The Dubbo Service NSW centre - at the corner of Bultje Street and Macquarie Street - was damaged in the storm.
A panel of five windows at the rear of the building collapsed, while damage was caused to the adjoining walls and windows.
A spokesperson for Service NSW confirmed that the location would be closed for the rest of Tuesday, November 25, however, the site is expected to reopen at 8.30am on Wednesday, November 26.
It is understood that no one was injured during the incident.
The Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) and State Emergency Service (SES) issued a warning for isolated severe inland thunderstorms just before those conditions hit Dubbo at midday on Tuesday, November 25.
"Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds in the warning area over the next several hours," the warning said.
"Locations which may be affected include Mudgee, Coonabarabran, Merriwa, Gulgong, Mullaley and Tambar Springs."
