A prisoner has been airlifted to hospital after a weekend stabbing.

At approximately 11.15am on the morning of Saturday, September 13, staff responded to an incident between two inmates at Bathurst Correctional Centre.
A spokesperson for Corrective Services NSW said that a 32-year-old inmate was stabbed multiple times by another inmate.
Police and paramedics were also called to jail.

The inmate was treated on scene before he was taken to Bathurst airport, where Toll Rescue was awaiting his arrival.
The 32-year-old was flown to Liverpool Hospital for medical treatment and is in a stable condition.
NSW Police are investigating the incident.
