Woodbridge Cup returned with a bang following the representative round bye and made up for lost time with several games going down to the wire.
First up, Peak Hill Roosters and Molong Bulls played out a classic, a 30-all draw at Lindner Oval.
The home side actually scored one more try than their opponents, but some perfect goalkicking by Sebastian Backhouse and Harry Taylor gave the Bulls a share of the points.
On Sunday at Cargo Oval, the Blue Heelers finally broke through for their first win of the season and in thrilling fashion against Trundle Boomers.
Both sides scored six tries and it was ultimately a missed conversion from the Boomers proving the difference as the home side held on to win 34-32.

The close matches continued with Manildra Rhinos suffering their first defeat of the season, going down 22-16 away to Oberon Tigers.
Oh, and Eugowra Golden Eagles and Orange United Warriors played out an entertaining affair with the former eventually emerging victorious to the tune of 32-24.

The Kiwi imports William Fonehema (two tries) and Tevita Kengike (one try) continue to impress for Eugowra.
The two sides played for the inaugural OAMS Cup.
Orange Aboriginal Medical Service (OAMS) has provided assistance to the Eugowra community following the 2022 flood and the cup has been implemented to recognise their contribution.
To mark the occasion, Eugowra also wore a specially designed Indigenous jersey.

Game on
There were a lot to choose from when picking the most eventful match but I think Oberon's defeat of Manildra fits the bill.
Not only was the game itself a brilliant contest, but the Tigers can really be considered one of the premiership favourites.
The Rhinos have largely been untroubled so far in season 2025, in fact the smallest margin of victory they've had was 10 against the Roosters.
The above victory came sandwiched between two 66-6 wins against Blayney Bears and Grenfell Goannas respectively and they've also comfortably beaten a strong Molong side 26-0 and almost put 50 on the Boomers first up.
So by getting the points against Manildra, Oberon has well and truly proved themselves.
In particular, their defensive efforts against the competition's most potent attack bodes well for those big games come August.
Power rankings
For the past couple of years we've been coming up with power rankings for both first-grade and league tag.
For those unfamiliar with a power ranking ladder, it's similar to your conventional standings, except it's completely subjective and based on who we think is in the best form, regardless of their points total.
Today, we are once again looking at league tag.
