NSW Ambulance Media says paramedics were called to the highway at Springwood and arrived on the scene at around 6.20am on Monday, August 26 after a man in his 50s came off his motorcycle.
The man had a number of injuries, including a possible fractured leg, according to a NSW Ambulance Media spokesperson.
He was taken to Liverpool Hospital by helicopter shortly before 7.20am.
Transport for NSW initially reported that the Great Western Highway was closed eastbound and motorists should avoid the area and use an alternative route.
Later, Transport for NSW said vehicles were using the breakdown lane to pass the crash site, while heavy vehicles were being parked at the location or were being asked to consider using Bells Line of Road.

The site had been cleared by about 7.40am.
This morning's incident follows a crash between two cars on the Great Western Highway at Valley Heights, just east of Springwood, on August 1, and a crash between a car and a pedestrian on the highway at Faulconbridge, just west of Springwood, on August 13.
