A popular face cleanser has been recalled from Priceline Pharmacy shelves after it was found to contain ingredients not listed on the label.

Product Safety Australia warned the cleanser's ingredient list was "incorrect" but did not elaborate on the contents of the skincare product.

The Priceline and Clear Skincare Clinics' Clear Skincare Exfoliating Gel Cleanser does not comply with the mandatory standard for cosmetic ingredients labelling, the consumer watchdog said.

"There is a risk of allergic reaction if consumers are exposed to ingredients they are sensitive or allergic to," the recall warning said.

"Consumers will not be able to check the ingredients list to identify the possible cause and seek appropriate treatment."

Return options

Those with a bottle of the gel cleanser were urged to stop using the product immediately and return it to Priceline or the Clear Skincare Clinic. Proof of purchase would be required for a full refund.

If purchased from Priceline or Priceline Pharmacy a refund may be organised by contacting info@priceline.com.au or by phone on 1300 88 44 11.

If purchased from a Clear Skincare Clinic, contact Customer Service at customerservice@clearskincareclinics.com.au or by phone on 1300442632 to organise a refund.
