ORANGE finished the Southern NSW Women's Veterans Hockey Championships at Bathurst with two titles.
The first 35s side took out the division three title when they defeated Far South Coast 2-1 in the final.
Orange coach Narelle Carr was thrilled with the result considering it was the first time they had played together.
"The ladies just clicked," Carr said.
"They did exceptionally well."
Orange scored first in the final before FSC levelled the score.
Orange took the lead and then produced some great defence to hold on for the win.
Carr said Lyndal Taylor and Carolyn Foxall were outstanding during the weekend but all the ladies played well.
The over 35 division five side finished the weekend as joint winners after they drew the final 1-all with Sutherland.
Jeanette Stojanovic pounced on a loose ball in front of goal in the final and put it in to draw the game.
The side was consistent all weekend and played well to finish equal first.
Orange's 40s coach Dave Stevenson was impressed with his side's third placed finish in the division one competition.
The side had wins against Ryde Eastwood and Bathurst as well as draws with Western Districts and Goulburn.
They just missed out on the final but held onto third spot.
Stevenson said Jane Rowlands, Julie Pitt and Janine Caughlan were the side's best over the weekend.
The over 45s had one goal scored against them all weekend and finished third.
The side went through the pool matches undefeated with four draws and a 3-0 win over Eurobodalla in their last match.
They just missed out on making the final but won their play-off for third against North Shore 1-0 when Judy Dyer scored a great individual goal.
Coach Kerry Showels said Kerry Madden, Rhonda Pearce and Robyn Sharp were voted the team's most consistent players.
Showels said her side, which never stopped singing, showed great defence to only have one goal scored against them all weekend.
Orange's over 50 side came in equal third after only being beaten once all weekend.
The side had wins against Wagga and Bathurst and draws with Dubbo and eventual winners Goulburn.
"I was very pleased with the girls," captain-coach Sue Hope said.
"The younger legs who were added to the side were welcomed."
The side finished equal third with Illawarra.
