A man who contacted his former partner multiple times from jail despite being subject to a non-contact apprehended domestic violence order was convicted in Orange Local Court on Wednesday.

The 22-year-old is in custody waiting for be sentenced for a district court matter.

Solicitor Matthew Tedeschi said the man phoned his former partner because he was unable to see his child while he was in custody.
"A number of phone calls were made in the first few months of him going into custody," Mr Tedeschi said.
"After this occurred though he's learnt from this, he's removed her number from his call sheet."
The man called his former partner 54 times between July 11, and August 6, 2020. He also called her four times between August 12, and 19, 2020, and 25 times between August 25 and October 20, 2020, while he was in custody.
The offences put the man in breach of a previous Community Correction Order. Magistrate David Day revoked the CCO and re-issued it for two years.
He also gave the man a 30-month CCO breaching the ADVO.
