This was the first of many brave and daring deeds performed by Australian servicemen and women in many more conflicts to follow in later years all over the globe.
Some of these brave men and women were – and are – from Oberon and district.
At 6am on April 25, 2013, the Returned and Servicemen’s League, Oberon RSL Sub Branch will host a dawn service at the memorial opposite the Oberon RSL Club to commemorate the valiant deeds of those men and women.

The sub branch/museum will be open from 5.30am.
All ex-service and service personnel of Oberon and district will be joined at 10.30am by the schools, clubs and other organisations to form a parade in front of the Oberon Council Chambers.
They will march to the RSL Club for a wreath-laying ceremony, and then to the RSL Club’s auditorium for a commemoration service – children are most welcome to attend this service.
After the commemoration service, the Oberon RSL Club will host a lunch for all ex-service personnel and their spouses. Visitors and members of the community are welcome to join us for lunch.
There will be two more ANZAC Day services on April 28 – at 10am at Burraga and at noon at Black Springs.
