For the first time in three years, Australia's longest-running wrestling promotion will venture back out west for a weekend of pro-wrestling action. This is a family-friendly event and featuring some of International Wrestling Australia's (IWA) finest wrestlers, like IWA Heavyweight Champion Jackson Kelly, Cowboy Chris Abbott in his farewell tour, RIG, Trans-Tasman Champion Tree Hugger Luchi, Wellington's-own Tyson Gibbs, Parkes'-own Scott Green, and many more. Experimenta Life Forms: International Triennial of Media Art features 26 contemporary Australian and international artists working across diverse artforms - including robotics, bio-art, screen-based works, installations, participatory and generative art. July 2 to 10. From the Vault: Attending a Ball was the epitome of social interaction in the 19th and early 20th centuries. They provided one of the few public spaces where young men and women could interact, and dancing offered an opportunity to flirt, admire and attract. June 29-July 3. Memorial March & Family Fun Day
Monday, July 4, is the start of NAIDOC Week. To kick things off there is a march from the Bob Jane T-Mart at 9.30am, then via the rotunda on Macquarie Street, and finishing at the council car park for the flag raising ceremony. Celebrations will continue to take place at Victoria Park with live music, market stalls, traditional cultural celebrations and a barbecue for all to enjoy.

For a lot of people these experiences have grown into a lifelong passion for cycling and the associated benefits health and well being. The Dubbo Cycle Club is holding a Learn to Ride and develop safe riding skills holiday camp for kids aged five and up on July 5-7, from 9am until noon, at the Dubbo Regional Cycle Facility, for $33 a session. Sessions will be run by accredited coaches including coaches for the NSW Junior Cycling Team - Tom Dawson and Graeme Northey. Debut novel launch

Join James McKenzie Watson, winner of the Penguin Literary Prize 2021, for the launch of his debut novel, Denizen at the library from 6.30pm, Tuesday, July 19. Based on his experiences growing up in regional New South Wales and his work as a nurse, Denizen is a rural thriller that explores the catastrophic consequences of unchecked mental illness in the bush. As you are guided through the Bathurst Goldfields museum displays, see the various methods of mining for gold, the tools and machinery used, from man, horse power through to steam power. At the outdoor museum help operate the authentic machines used during the 1850s. Then head to the blacksmith shop where the guide will create a work of art in steel. Then try your hand at panning for the real gold that turned colonial Australia upside down during the scramble for wealth. Keep what you find. Great fun for all ages. Bathurst Edgell Jog
Fun run for the diary
While it might not be on until September 18, the Edgell Jog is set to make an anticipated return after a two year hiatus. There will be major prizes for first, second and third male and female across the line. There will also be the inaugural Lou Shehade award, honouring the late long serving committee member. Under the COVID-19 safe format, there will be no limits on participants, just no milling around at the end.
