Getting festive
With Christmas fast approaching, get ready for the annual Oberon Community Carols. Santa will be joining us and a host of local performers will entertain. There ill also be lucky gate prizes and a raffle, while the Oberon Youth Council will provide a sausage sizzle. Friday, December 10, 6pm to 8pm. Apex Park.

The Lindsay Butler & Shaza Leigh Show will perform at the Burraga Hall. kicks off with a barbecue from 6pm followed by performances from 7pm. With Tom Maxwell, Peggy Gilchrist and the Butler Showband. Saturday, December 11. $25.
Walk n Talk for Life
Community event
Come and celebrate the upcoming holidays with this important community initiative. Walk n Talk for Life is all about preventing suicide, one step at a time. Take a stroll, have a chat, relax and refocus. Just look for the bright yellow marquee at Oberon Common. Participants get a free t-shirt. Saturday, December 11. 12.30pm for 1pm start. There will be two craft classes at Oberon library to keep the kids entertained. They can decorate their own clay tree decoration on Tuesday, December 14 at 3.30pm. Ages six an up only. The second activity will be to create a flannelette and button tree - a great table centrepiece. Thursday, December 16 at 3.30pm. All ages. Bookings essential on 6329 8220. Children under 10 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.

A Bloody Dickens Christmas is a dark and humorous role-playing dinner party game, hosted by the Murder Master. You will play as one of Charles Dickens' beloved characters and attempt unravel a mysterious murder, all the while proclaiming your own innocence. Dress up and win a prize. Exhibition
The Bathurst Regional Art Gallery will host two exhibitions highlighting the artistry in drawing. Brett Whitely: Drawing in Everything explores the central place drawing played in the renowned artists practice. Until February 6. Anastasia Parmson: I Drew A Line & Called It Home creates site-specific installations that extends drawing beyond a conventional 2D format. The galleries ceramic gallery has been transformed into a fictional (drawn) living room.
2022 Elvis Festival
Road trippin'
The 2022 Elvis Festival in Parkes has been launched. Moved from its usual January time due to COVID, the festival returns April 20 to 24 and is jam-packed with a king-sized program of more than 200 events in a rock 'n' roll and Speedway theme (after the 1968 film of the same name), including free entertainment on the stage at Cooke Park. Wildflowers Festival

Ok, it may not be held until October 29, 2022, but general admission tickets are now on sale for the anticipated Wildflowers Festival in Mudgee. The festival will feature a who's who of Australian female musical talent. One stop on a wider tour kicking off in March, the Mudgee event at Craigmoor Wines features Missy Higgins, Kasey Chambers, Kate Miller-Heidke, Sarah Blasko, Deborah Conway, Alice Skye and Georgia June.
