The NSW Government will provide more than $27,000 to help the Tarana Valley Community Group's continue its plans to transform a vacant tract of land in the village into a recreation ground.

With progress on the "village green" forging ahead, Member for Bathurst Paul Toole said the funding under the Crown Land Manager COVID-19 Recovery Support Program would allow for the supply and installation of a waterless composting toilet at the venue.
The new grant comes on top of the $8800 granted to the Tarana Valley Community Group (TVCG) last year to get the project up and running with levelling and reseeding across a 100 metre diameter where the oval will be located.
"This funding also allows for a synthetic grass covered concrete wicket to be placed in the middle of the ground," Mr Toole said.
"These improvements means the ground can not only be used for cricket matches, but also for other recreational activities and events."
The Crown Land Manager COVID-19 Recovery Support Program is providing $4.1 million in grants across the state to help Crown land managers recover from the pandemic by funding asset improvements such as what is planned for Tarana.
Mr Toole said the program aims to boost the social benefits of Crown reserves and support regional economic recovery post-COVID while supporting jobs in regional areas.
