Looking to help drive positive change within Australian communities, each Commonwealth branch around the country has been allocated $500 to donate to a worthy organisation in their local town as part of the initiative.
The team at Commonwealth Bank Oberon voted to support the Oberon High School P&C Association for their great work in supporting the future generations of Oberon.
"Many communities across Australia face ongoing challenges as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, so it's important for us to give back to local organisations who continue to do good work within our community," Commonwealth Bank Oberon branch manager Brendan Gunn said.
"We are pleased to support the Oberon High School P&C Association, in particular, their support and commitment towards the youth of Oberon, so it's great to be able to support them in this great work."
P&C president Jacqui Taylor said they were "very pleased with the donation" and were still deciding the best way to use it.
"It will definitely be put to excellent use, there's plenty of things we can do with it," Ms Taylor said.
"Each year they [Commonwealth Bank] do make a donation to an organisation in the community that's going to benefit a large number of community members and this year it was us."
