This Sunday
Tarana Farmers Markets are on again this Sunday, April 25 (Anzac Day), from 9am to 1pm. Come along and share in the community spirit on this special day. Enjoy a bite to eat or a coffee and shop for delicious local produce. All our regular stall holders will be there.

Line dancing classes are being held for adults at Black Springs hall every Monday from 5.30pm to 7pm. It's a great form of exercise because everyone gets to laugh and enjoy the music as they move. Newcomers are more than welcome. Classes will run on April 26, and May 3 and 10. Cost is $5 per person. Contact 0427 558 706.

Enjoy the delights of an autumn high tea at Abercrombie House. There will be sweet and savoury delights, leaf tea to sup and plunger coffee (if that is your preferred beverage). While you enjoy your repast you can list to the strains of a classical Celtic harpist. You'll also have the chance to explore the main rooms of the house and the gardens. Field to Forest

Food, wine and foraging are returning with the Field to Forest Festival that will showcase what makes the Oberon region so great. There will be specialised foraging trips for mushrooms, forest lunches, wine tasting, 4WD tag-along trips and Renzaglia's famous Harvest Long Lunch returns. Candidate information sessions

Oberon Council will host workshops for prospective candidates at the 2021 local government election. Held on Thursday, April 29 at 5pm at the Robert Hooper Community Centre, Fleming Street, Oberon, the candidate information sessions will be informal and interactive, and provide information about the role of council and the roles and responsibilities of councillors. Due to current COVID requirements people must register their interest in attending a session by phoning council on 6329 8100 or emailing sharon.swannell@oberon.nsw.gov.au. The NSW Electoral will also be running a series of webinars from April through to September, specifically for candidates. The Oberon local government election will be held on Saturday, September 4.

The Adult Survivors of Child Abuse - Cowra Support Group meet on the first Friday of each month at 12.30pm. 'shroom hunt

The mushrooms are out and the hunt is on. Yum! As the weather gets cooler it's time to get out and try some foraging in the beautiful countryside around Oberon. You can try and spot them in the wild yourself (be careful you don't pick out something deadly) or take part in a tour that starts from Hampton. Tickets include a barbecue lunch (with 'shrooms on the menus, of course) and tips on finding, preparing and preserving the fungi.
