THERE was another good roll up at last month's meeting of the Oberon Garden Club.
The OGY award was won by Denise Brien with a lovely spray of red fuchsias.
Margaret Beilharz was the lucky winner of the raffle and took home a beautiful camellia.
After the meeting, members were invited to visit the garden of Bernice and Wayne Keft. This one was worth waiting for!
The Kefts obviously spend a lot of time tending their plants and their efforts were much admired by their visitors.
Such visits are hugely enjoyable and a source of new ideas and inspiration for everyone.
Fuchsias are somewhat tricky in our climate as they are generally frost sensitive and require a bit more care during winter.
Bernice's fuchsias were thriving in their hanging baskets, so she obviously knows what to do!
This month, members are back to the Uniting Church Hall for a more "normal" meeting with the usual morning tea, though with the COVID restrictions of sign-in, social distancing and hand sanitising.
We hope to see an increase in the number of OGY entries as well.
Meeting date is Monday, April 19. Arrive at 9.30am to help set up, for 10am start.
After the meeting, we are invited to visit Margaret and John Allen's garden at Mount Olive.
Members will car pool at the conclusion of the meeting. This garden is about a 15 minute drive from Oberon.
Let's hope for another lovely day and a big roll up.
New members are always welcome. Just turn up and you will be accommodated.
