First it was bushfires, then flooding rains and finally the pandemic that forced Jenolan Caves to close, but visitor experience and marketing manager Amy Korfias is looking forward to welcoming back visitors.
"The lights are back on and we can finally start taking people back through two of our beautiful caves," Ms Korfias said.
"The Temple of Baal and the Orient are now open for bookings for the first time since March 2020.
"It's been a long time coming for us and we are excited to welcome people back."
Ms Korfias said the site has been hit hard.
"First a raging bushfire closed the site from December 30 to February 1, then heavy rainfall that caused flooding and damage closed the site from February 11 to 23, and then the COVID pandemic closed the site from March," she said.
"Due the circumstances, we are limited to the number of guests that we are able to guide through the caves at one time - six guests for the Orient and eight guests for the Baal.
"Saying that, the tours will offer a very exclusive experience. These caves tours are only on offer with either an accommodation, Chisolm's lunch/dinner or high tea booking. There are great packages available.

"Please be aware that we are only able to offer tours via pre-booking to ensure we can accommodate our guests. I suggest booking on-line or give us a call.
"We pride ourselves on the safety, comfort and enjoyment of our guests and as a result COVID-19 safe practices have been implemented for our cave tours."
"To ensure our business remains flexible and to avoid disappointment for our guests, we are only initially releasing tour dates for November and will release further tour dates two weeks in advance following that."
Ms Korfias advises to keep a look out on their website www.jenolancaves.org.au for the tour schedule to see what is available.
"We will also announce added caves and ticket options on our social media, so be sure to join our Facebook community.
"Access to Jenolan Caves is via the Two Mile. The Five Mile road will be closed for another couple of weeks.
Ms Korfias said the Blue Lake restoration project will be complete in two weeks.
