Twenty-nine players participated in the 12-hole social handicap event and there were plenty of good scores.
However, someone has to win and Dave Campbell - after a bit of a spell - has come back strongly to post a top score of 29 points.
Balls went to Alan Cairney, Anthony Borton, Andrew Yeo, Sean Mooney, Barry Stubbs, Peter Dale, Darren Gordon, Barry Hore, and Ken Maddison.
The golf course is like the rest of the countryside at the moment (it looks magnificent) but the grass takes away the run in the course and if you are off-line it can be a challenge to find your ball.
With some of our regular golfers away on tour the Saturday field was smaller than we have had for some time.
It took a three-way countback to find the A grade winner. Kim Rawlings came home with a good back nine to win A grade from Anthony Borton on 37 points.
Bob Rickard was the B grade winner with 35 points, Katie Graham was the runner up with 33 points.
Balls went to Alan Cairney, Justin Evans, Darren Gordon, Adrian Poulten, Jason Sargent, and Neil Whalan.
Next Saturday we will play a stroke round for the Monthly Medal and putting competition.
The greens are recovering well from renovations and should be in pretty good shape for the weekend.
There is lots of grass on the course and any help with mowing would be appreciated. Contact Mick or Rob at the workshop.
There will be Central West Veterans even on Monday, November 2.
An eclectic competition is now running and will continue into December.
Scores for the first two Saturdays in October have been entered, if you want to change a score on a hole it will cost $1.
To have your score altered on the master sheet you will need to pay the dollar and get one of the directors to do the alteration.
There is an information sheet in the clubhouse along with a sheet with your registered scores.
If you are not already on the competition sheet you can be added to the completion by asking one of the directors.
