Oberon Children's Centre director Meredith Cameron said the new room is part of an extension to the service granted to the centre through a capital works grant through the Department of Education.
The new room is due for completion in June 2021.
"COVID has been a challenging and tough year for us," Ms Cameron said.
"We have adapted our health and hygiene practices to ensure the health and safety of the children and families at the centre.
"We now have put extra measures in place. We are reassured that the families have every confidence in keeping the children safe with preschool at full capacity this year."
Being a not-for-profit centre funded by the Department of Education, Oberon Children's Centre is able to keep its fees low, therefore making it accessible for all families.
"If you have a child aged three to five years old, we would love to hear from you about enrolling for next year," Ms Cameron said.
