The Australia Day Awards recognise the contribution community members give by acknowledging their commitment and achievement.
They are an opportunity for council to recognise local residents for their outstanding contributions to the community.
Council is asking members of the community to nominate residents and organisations in the categories of Oberon Council Citizen of the Year; Young Citizen of the Year (up to 25 years); Sportsperson of the Year; Young Sportsperson of the Year (up to 25 years); Sports Team of the Year; Community Event of the Year; Volunteer or Volunteer Group of the Year; and Environmental Champion of the Year.
We all know someone who makes our community a better place - perhaps by the work they do, the encouragement they bring or their vision and passion.
These awards provide the opportunity to celebrate that contribution.
Nominations for the 2021 awards close at 4.30pm on Friday, November 6.
Nomination forms available from Oberon Council or by visiting council's website, www.oberon.nsw.gov.au.
