Police say emergency services were called to O'Connell Road, Oberon, approximately two kilometres from Oberon Street, at about 6.40pm on Sunday following reports of a crash between a Ford Falcon and a Toyota Hilux.
The Ford driver, a 60-year-old man, and female passenger, aged 42, were treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being airlifted to Westmead Hospital in a serious condition.
The Toyota driver, a 69-year-old man, and male passenger, aged 19, were treated for non-life-threatening injuries before being conveyed to Orange Hospital
Officers attached to Chifley Police District attended and established a crime scene that has been examined by the Crash Investigation Unit to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Police say inquiries are continuing.
