The Thursday afternoon social handicap golf competition grew to 30 golfers last week.

That means that the competition numbers have roughly doubled this year.

Rob Webb is one of the newer recruits but is showing he is no slouch with the golf clubs in hand. Rob was the winner with 29 points.

Balls went to Liam O'Hara, Doug Collins, Peter Dale, Les Handicott, Hugh O'Neil, Barry Hore, Kevin Hally, Bruce Webb, Andrew Yeo, Sean Mooney and Chris Lord.

On Saturday, golfers were greeted with a beautiful sunny spring day. Forty players lined up to play an 18-hole stableford event.

While the conditions were good and the course is in wonderful shape, our golfers struggled to score.

In A grade, Neil Whalan was one of the few who took advantage of the conditions. Neil won A grade with a great score of 40 points. Scott Rowlandson wasn't far behind with 39 points.

Dave King had a good round for 36 points to win B grade and Bob Rickard was the runner-up with 35 points.

The highlight of the day was an eagle on the 15th hole by Adrian Poulten.

Balls went to Hamish Anderson, Anthony Borton, Alan Cairney, Mick English, Anthony McGrath, Rob McGrath, Adrian Poulten, Terry Robinson, Paul Behan, Don Miller and Dom York.

The outdoor staff are working towards renovations at the end of the month.

Renovations of the greens is a huge job and we will need as many volunteers as possible to use the blower, drive machines, sweep off cores and spread sand.

Don't forget the Greens restaurant is open Thursday through to Saturday evenings.
