It was unanimously resolved to buy the sweeper, which will be funded using an internal loan from council's development reserve.
Council says residents have regularly expressed concern about the cleanliness and tidiness of Oberon streets and the purchase will eliminate much of the need for expensive manual sweeping.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Council says there is also a demand from industry for sweeping within work sites.
The estimated return on the investment of $135,000 is between 18 months and two years.
BAITING NOTICE
COUNCIL will conduct a ground baiting program using vegetable bait products containing 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of wild rabbits.

The program will be undertaken within the Oberon Cemetery.
