OBERON Fire and Rescue is putting the call out to those in the Oberon community who could make excellent firefighters, but may not have necessarily considered it.
At Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW), we do more than fight fires. We are looking for candidates with a broad range of skills to meet the challenging and rewarding nature of the job - especially from Monday to Friday during the day.
Oberon is a retained station, which means we are on-call and respond to emergencies 24 hours a day and seven days a week, however, retained (on-call) firefighters are not rostered on duty but are 'on-call' and notified of an emergency incident by pager or via a mobile phone call.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Retained (on-call) firefighters then leave work, home or other activity to travel promptly to the fire station and join their team to respond on the appliance (fire truck).
Inbox the Oberon FRNSW crew on Facebook for more information on how you can join and be a part of the on-call team - facebook.com/oberon411.
Oberon Fire and Rescue members meet every Monday at 6.30pm at the fire station in North Street (opposite the Shell service station).
