Snow settled in the higher parts at Jenolan Caves, Shooters Hill and Black Springs. The snow turned to rain, but at 4pm, it started to snow again.
Rain was received across the region, with Bureau of Meteorology data showing Oberon received 32.6 millimetres between 9am Friday and 8am Monday.
Jenolan Caves Road was closed in both directions on Monday morning due to a large rockfall.
Large boulders fell onto the roadway just before 10am, leaving the road blocked between Duckmaloi and Hampton roads. Traffic travelling east from Oberon was diverted onto Titania Road and Edith Road. All southbound traffic travelling to Oberon was diverted from Hampton toward Sodwalls Road, then onto Muttons Falls Road and Lowes Mount Road.
The Campbells River is running at the top end, but a lot more is required to raise the Oberon Dam level, which is at 25.14 per cent capacity.
