There were 1209 inquiries during June and, so far in July, there have been 1013 inquiries.
Lynne Causer from the VIC said they have been very busy.
During the school holidays, fossicking has been at the top of the list, she said.
"With Kanangra-Boyd National Park reopening after the bushfires and bridge reconstruction, the walks to the lookout and waterfall are also popular," she said.
Oberon Council's tourism and economic development manager Mathew Webb said staff have been busy organising the November outdoor festival.
"We are planning as per normal, but the situation is changing day to day," he said.
"We will not have a problem with the fishing competition and trail bike riding, but we may have to reassess the bus tours throughout the region.
"We're waiting for a decent snowfall - this brings everyone to the area."
