POLICE say animals had to be put down after two dogs described as a tan Staffordshire terrier and a black and tan German shepherd were seen attacking goats, sheep and an alpaca in a paddock at the Oberon High School.

The incident happened last Thursday, June 11.
Workers erecting a fence at the school chased the dogs off and police and Oberon Council staff attended.

The two dogs were located a short distance away on Albion Street and seized by council staff.
Two goats had to be euthanised due to the serious injuries inflicted by the dogs and two cross-breed ewes (in lamb) and an alpaca were treated by a vet.
Council staff are investigating and action is expected to be taken against the owners of the two dogs.
Licence suspended
ABOUT 12.10am on Sunday, June 14, police stopped a vehicle on Albion Street, Oberon.
A 22-year-old female driver was given a breath test, which returned a positive result.
She was arrested and taken to Oberon Police Station for a breath analysis, which returned a result in the high range.
The driver's licence was immediately suspended and she was issued with a court attendance notice.
Signs damaged
POLICE investigations are continuing after 12 road signs on Arkstone Road, Burraga were damaged by a vehicle during the recent long weekend.
The vehicle drove into and forcibly removed the signs and concrete footings from the ground, causing damage of around $5000.
Police assessed the damage, which can only be described as the act of a tiny-minded individual with no regard for council property.

Vehicle rollover
AN SUV with five occupants was travelling north on Shooters Hill Road, Shooters Hill at about 7.50pm on Friday, June 12 when the driver stated he swerved to miss a kangaroo.
The driver lost control of the vehicle and it rolled several times.
All occupants were able to get out of the vehicle and none suffered any serious injuries.
Rider airlifted
ON Friday, June 12, a large group of males attended a motorbike park in Jerrong.
While the group were unloading their motorcycles and quads, one rider was riding around the car park area without a helmet and lost control of his bike.
He hit a tree head first and suffered suspected spinal injuries.
A Toll NSW Ambulance helicopter attended along with paramedics and police.
The rider was airlifted to Liverpool Hospital in a stable condition.
