Thursday afternoon was well patronised with 21 keen golfers playing the social handicap event. Alan Cairney was in good touch to win with 26 points.
Balls went to Kim Rawlings, John McKinnon, Glyn Samuel, Blake Miller and Andrew Yeo.
The brilliant autumn weather continued through to Saturday attracting a good field of 41 players.
Laurie Murphy was the standout player. Laurie had a great round of 41 points to easily win A grade. Bart Fitzpatrick was the runner-up with 36 points.
While the conditions were excellent most of the players could not play to their handicap. Mark Mathews was the B grade winner with thirty-one points, Don Miller was the runner-up with twenty-nine points.
Balls went to Mick English, Zac Elwin, Peter Hutchinson, Rob McGrath, Anthony Miller, Blake Miller, Peter Ryan, Dave Campbell, Dave King and Neil Whalan.
Neil Whalan will be sponsoring next Saturday's golf and we will be playing an 18-hole stroke/stableford round for the monthly medal and putting competition.
Now that the COVID-19 restrictions are being relaxed the clubhouse will be open and can cater for 30.
The bistro will be operating each Thursday afternoon and evening from 3pm to 6pm, Friday evening from 4pm to 7pm and Saturday from 9.30am.
Women's golf
A SMALL field of seven ladies played a Stableford last week in heavy conditions, meaning it was very wet underfoot.
The day fined up to be quite pleasant but the heavy dew took quite a while to dry off.
The winner in these difficult conditions was Joan Graham. Runner-up was Joan Sullivan and in third place was Marjorie Webb.
Until players are confident to return to golf, with the further lifting Covid-19 restrictions, the program will not resume and Stablefords will continue.
