We know sport is a vital part of the fabric of the community and I am sure these grants will provide essential funds to help local organisations increase participation when they can go back to normal sporting activities.
I look forward to making these announcements across the district and informing the successful applicants of their support from the NSW Government.
Across the state, 955 projects have been supported. Some organisations will buy uniforms for kids to relieve financial pressures on families whilst others will increase female participation and leadership in sport.
The Local Sport Grants Program awards sporting organisations up to $20,000 for projects which focus on development and participation, access and facility development.

Apprentice help
APPLICATIONS are now open for the annual Bert Evans Apprentice Scholarships and I would really encourage all hard-working apprentices in the local area to apply.
The scholarships support apprentices who are experiencing financial or personal hardship, demonstrate a high aptitude for vocational education and are committed to their on and off the job training.
I fully understand that an apprenticeship is a great way to kick-start a career, and that apprentices are vital to our State's growth, but I also understand it's not always easy to complete a qualification.
Apprentices are vital to driving NSW forward during the response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
We want to back our apprentices by giving them a helping hand to complete their training and gain a qualification.
