A total of 18 people have now completed the Standard MHFA course which is accredited under Mental Health First Aid Australia.
The course facilitators, who have wide experience in mental health, were Sharon Taylor and Casey Naden from Neami National in Orange.
Neami is a community-based organisation providing services to improve mental health and wellbeing in communities. The organisation supports more than 9000 Australians each year.
The course participants came from Oberon, Orange, Bathurst and Lithgow.
Oberon Rotary has been overwhelmed with the interest shown in this course and already has six new participants on a 'waiting list' for the next course, which Oberon Rotary hopes to run in three to six months' time.
