Greg, I too was born in Oberon and have lived all but 15 months of my life here, and I too have every right to an opinion.
I have - and will always - believe in the 'fair go principle'. I agree with your point that when I served on council I was afforded a fair go. I remind you that this was because I was actually democratically elected to council by the people of Oberon.
None of the ratepayers group have been democratically elected to anything ... in fact, the new group, as Greg calls it, was formed in a shroud of secrecy and the people of Oberon were not afforded the fair go of deciding whether they wanted a ratepayer group to represent them or not.
Greg, I have not made unfounded accusations and if by having my say (just like you, Greg) appears to you to be denigrating, I suggest that you review the Oberon Shire Residents and Ratepayers Forum Facebook page to see what denigrating really is. You will surely be embarrassed about Hardy's comments and opinionated rants.
In your role as secretary, can we expect better from you?
Greg, my belief in the 'fair go principle' is that there should have been a fair go given to the community of Oberon who should have been allowed to have a say in whether we believe there is a need for a ratepayers association or not.
This did not happen. Therefore what happened to the fair go principle for the community of Oberon? Ask Hardy what happened.
Sitting at home tapping on a keyboard is easy; rolling up your sleeves and doing something positive for the community you live in is much harder.
To finish, Greg, you question "my role". My role as a ratepayer has as much value as yours or any other member of your group.
