FORMER ABC radio broadcaster Bob Hughes has died from cancer at the age of 67.

The fifth-generation farmer loved spending time on his family property at Oberon.
Mr Hughes became a well-loved voice on the airwaves at 2BL 702 (now ABC Radio Sydney) in the 1990s, working first on the afternoon program and then moving on to the weekend breakfast show.

ABC Radio Sydney personality James Valentine paid tribute to the late broadcaster.
"One of my first radio jobs was filling in for Bob Hughes, who at that point was presenting Weekends," he said.
"He was a warm, encouraging enthusiast for broadcasting and I felt intimidated filling in for him, mainly because I was sure that my scratchy, youthful voice was no match for his rich, velvet tone."
"My heart aches but I am so glad for the gift of 12 years with this marvellous man," his partner Emily Simpson wrote on Facebook. "Kind and curious, thoughtful and enthusiastic. He was my Dalai Farmer."
Mr Hughes' sister Helen Freeth still resides in Oberon.
