Thursday afternoon attracted another large field of 29 golfers for the 12-hole social handicap event. Ron Hill, a recent recruit to the event, had 29 points to win on a three-way countback.
Balls went to Harold Lyme, Keith Hancox, Alan Cairney, Les Handicott, Peter Dale, Marty Hotham and David Campbell. Nearest the pin on the 17th went to Kim Rawlings.
Saturday golf attracted a very good field of 45 players.
The winner in A grade was Wayne Sellers with a good round of 41 points and the runner-up was Adrian Poulten with 39 points.
Dave Campbell had a day to remember, winning B grade with an exceptional score of 49 points. That means he played 13 shots better than his handicap. The runner-up was Anthony Miller with 41 points.
Balls went to Anthony McGrath, Eric Whalan, Dom York, Darren Gordon, Harold Lyme, Mark Mathews, Peter Stewart, Sam D'Arcy and Glen Joseph.
Nearest the pin on the first hole was Peter Stewart, just 2.3 metres from the cup. Adrian Poulten was closest on the 17th at just 1.4m from the cup.
Golf on Saturday will be an 18-hole par event. On Monday, January 20, Oberon will host the Central West Veterans.
