Twenty-nine golfers played the 12-hole social handicap event on Thursday afternoon.
Les Handicott, who is coming into his own with a few lessons and a bit of golf under his belt, had 29 points to win the competition. Balls went to Eric Whalan, Joe Casey, Kath Mooney, Kim Rawlings, Peter Dale and Barry Stubbs.
On Saturday, regular golfers and lots of visitors played the annual Christmas Ambrose sponsored by the Big Trout Motor Inn.
What a job they do with turkey and hams for the winners and runners-up, and there was a great field of 100 golfers competing.
The winning team was Rob McGrath and Glyn, Garth and Kylie Samuel. The runners-up, not very far behind, were Stephen, Mark and Josh Booth and Scott Austin.
Nearest the pin on the first hole went to the team of Mic English, Rodney Gibbs and Brian Balaam. Scott Rowlandson, Terry Robinson, Lenore Zamparini and Robert Hayden won the seventh hole. Darren McFawn and his crew were best on the ninth hole.
Closest to the pin on the 15th hole second shot was hard to beat; the team of John, Micheal and Tom McKinnon had an eagle.
Closest on the 17th was a shot from Les Handicott in the team of Barry Lang, Justin Paul and Russell Roberts.
The second shot on the 18th went to the team of Kim Rawlings, Mick McKechnie, Mark and Teena Mathews.
The winners of the annual 4BBB were announced. The team of Kevin McGrath and Peter Griffiths were the winners. Anthony McGrath and Adrian Poulten were the winners of the aggregate for 2019.
There are some matches for the 4BBB match play still to be played. It would be good to get them done before Christmas.
Golf on Saturday will be a stableford event. There will be golf over the Christmas period and New Year's Day.
