A BLACK Springs resident has contacted the Oberon Review to warn of a new scam.
The resident said they had received a call from someone claiming they were from Telstra.
The caller made mention of the slow internet speed in the area and said Telstra was going to install fibre-optic cabling to speed up the internet service.
The resident was transferred to a technician who wanted to access her computer from afar to test the internet speed.
The resident fears some people might fall for the scam.
"Our internet is bad and very slow in the Black Springs areas - some people would probably jump at the chance for a faster service," they said.
