The Salvation Army is working with the St Vincent de Paul Society to deliver the Drought Community Support Initiative (DCSI) for drought-affected households.
Farmers, farm workers or farm suppliers/contractors who are struggling financially because of the drought may be entitled to receive a one-off payment of up to $3000 funded by the Australian Government's DCSI round two.

To be eligible, potential recipients need to be over 18, an Australian citizen or permanent resident, and living or working in a specified local government area.
Payments can cover expenses such as groceries, vehicle maintenance, energy and utility bills, health and medical expenses.

Those who complete an application for financial assistance may be required to submit a valid form of identification. Those who have questions before they fill out an online application can call 1300 551 030.
