THE highlight of last week's men's golf was that Bob Slattery made a return to Saturday golf with a bang. He had 76 off the stick to win A grade and the Lithgow City Holden cup.

The event was sponsored by Lithgow City Holden.
A strong field of golfers on Thursday tried themselves out playing off the lady's red markers. Joe Casey enjoyed the fact that he was hitting off the lady's markers and had a good round of 31 points to win the event. Barry Stubbs won the nearest the pin on 1st hole for a ball donated by Don Miller.
Balls went to Harold Lyme, Don Miller, Andrew Yeo, Nathan Healy and Eric Whalan.
Only a small field of golfers braved the chilly wind on Saturday to play an individual Stableford and 4BBB event. The team of Katie Graham and Dave Campbell combined well to come in with a great score of 47 points to win the 4BBB on a countback from Bill Wilcox and Mick McKechnie.
Rob McGrath was on his game and with a fine round of 36 points was the A grade winner.
Marty Hotham was the runner up on 35 points.
In B grade there were some excellent scores. Steve Serong had a marvelous round of 41 points to win B grade from Kevin Hally on 40 points.
Nearest the pin on the first was Richard Gear 2.8 meters from the pin and Steve Serong was closest on the 7th just 2.5 meters from the cup.
Balls went to Bill Wilcox, Mick McKechnie, Alan Cairney, Paul Behan, Harold Lyme, Peter Ryan, Dave Campbell, Katie Graham and Mick English.
Oberon Council Golf Day will be this Friday and Saturday's golf will be a Par event. November 23 and 24 is the Oberon Golf Club's open weekend.
INDOOR BOWLS
ON November 5 Kevin Whalan won the singles competition with 8 points and the runner-up bowler was Lynette Maloney with 6 points.
Kevin scored one rester on the night of play and Kathryn won the night's raffle.
In all games there was good bowling by all players with close scoring ends. Well done to all players and see you next Tuesday at 6.45pm to register.
Play starts at 7pm in the Oberon RSL auditorium.
