Owner Kaye Dureau said the studio opened in September and they are adding to their collection as they go along.
"It all started after semi retirement five years ago when we got together all the 'stuff' my husband and I collected over many years. We had an immense stockpile and I decided to take it to the next level by opening my own shop," Kaye said.
"Our motto is to reuse, recycle or repurpose. There are so many wonderful old pieces of collectables and antiques why not use them over and over again.
"A piece of timber can be made into a picture frame and you can re-use old timber to make into new furniture. Nothing goes to waste as my husband Wayne is a retired builder. He even made an old tired piano into a desk and has plans to make a wine storage rack out of another old piano.
"It's all in the imagination."
Hazelgrove Cottage stocks old tools, cutlery, china, crystal through to old clothing patterns.
"My prices are very affordable. I do my research on a product and more often than not I will go lower in the pricing.
"I have a lot of LPs and I have a collection of Elton John's LPs - he is performing in Bathurst next year - it may be time to get connected to his music before the concert.
"We often find ourselves wandering through old wares shops and going to auctions to find collectables and antiques.
"I've even collected some kids toys such as marble dominos, draft sets, pick-up-sticks through to board games.
"I've begun this online shop which I will continue to build by adding new goodies. Plus my "HazelgroveCottage" page on Facebook has lots more to show."
In early 2020 Kaye and Wayne will have completed their fully equipped self contained accommodation holiday stay.
"It will be warm and welcoming furnished with antiques but with all the mod cons.
"Two bathrooms, full kitchen with dishwasher, wood heating, reverse cycle air conditioning and a spa/hot tub in the outdoor living space.
"Our property is located minutes from Oberon and is close to popular tourist attractions such as Jenolan Caves and Mayfield Garden.
"Tourism is growing in Oberon and I think it is now the third largest industry beside timber processing and agriculture.
"We were considering living in Tasmania but I thought it was too far away from family. Then we found Oberon. The area is beautiful and we love the climate."
Hazelgrove Cottage is open Saturdays and Sundays from 10am.
