Barry Stubbs had a great round of 30 points to win the afternoon. Ian Fowler was nearest the pin on the seventh hole, just four metres away.
Balls went to Dave Campbell, Kathy Mooney, Robyn Stapleton, Kim Rawlings, Bill Wilcox and Brian Balaam. Ladies should take note that the Thursday afternoon golf is a medley and women are welcome to join the boys for a hit.
The Super Six competition continues with some enthusiastic golfers starting after 4pm - a great time of the afternoon during daylight saving.
Golf on Saturday was an 18-hole stableford and fourball best ball competition sponsored by Lithgow Toyota, Lean and Bennett. There was a good field of 36 players, including a couple of ladies.
The greens are recovering well after renovations and some good scores are being recorded.
Wayne Sellers was at his best with a round of 41 points to win A grade. Alan Cairney was the runner-up on 36 points.
B grade was won by Alan's playing partner Peter Stewart with a solid round of 37 points. Dave Campbell was runner-up with 36 points. Dave is just beginning to hit his straps and will begin to lose shots off his handicap.
Peter Hutchinson and Wayne Sellers won the 4BBB with a score of 44 points.
The runners-up on a countback were Alan Cairney and Peter Stewart with 44 points.
Anthony McGrath and Robyn Stapleton combined well to win the mixed event with 41 points.
Barry Lang and Kath Mooney were the runners-up with 41 points as well.
Nearest the pin on the first was George Williams, visiting from Everglades. Peter Ryan was closest to the ninth hole.
Balls went to Dennis O'Connell, Scott Rowlandson, Adrian Poulten, Kevin McGrath, Peter Ryan, Dave Campbell and Sean Mooney.
Golf on Saturday will be an 18-hole stroke event playing for the monthly medal and putting competition. Golfers will be playing for the Lithgow City Holden Cup. The event is sponsored by Lithgow City Holden.
