Paul Behan had a good round of 31 points to take the honours. Don Miller won his own ball for nearest the pin on the ninth. Balls went to Alan Cairney, Brian Balaam, Barry Stubbs, David Zhou, Don Miller, and Andrew Yeo.
If you are thinking of trying your hand at golf, why not come along to the club from midday to 1pm and the boys will assist with whatever advice you need to get you playing.
The Super Six comp has had the second week of competition and continues to attract plenty of interest. Teams play six holes after 4pm on Thursday.
Saturday, a sunny, windy day, attracted a smaller field to play a par round. Anthony McGrath continued his good form with a fine round of +4 to win A grade. Barry Lang was runner-up on +3. Doug Collins had a fantastic score of +8 to win B grade.
Mick McKechnie would be disappointed to be runner-up with a very good score of +6. Balls went to Alan Cairney, Kevin McGrath, Andrew Yeo, Bill Wilcox, Linore Zamparini and Bart Fitzpatrick.
Six Oberon members traveled to Kandos to play in the Henbury Open on Sunday.
Henbury is a small club similar to Oberon relying on volunteers to run the club. Barry Lang had a good round to be the only one to bring back a trophy.
Golf on Saturday will be an 18-hole stableford and medley 4BBB sponsored by Lithgow Toyota. With spring on us, there is lots of grass to be mowed. If you have an hour or two spare, it would be a big help to our staff.
