Emergency services were called to Diamond Swamp Road, two kilometres from Tarana, at 5.24pm on Thursday following reports of a collision that had left people trapped.
"On arrival, we found a head on collision between a small cattle truck and sedan," Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) Oberon crews said in a statement.
"Both drivers had self extricated, gotten out of the vehicle themselves, with one driver being treated for minor injuries and shock.
"He was transported to hospital for observation."
No cattle were seriously injured during the crash.
"The road was closed for some time while the scene was investigated and cleaned up," Oberon FRNSW said.
