The transition has been heralded as a success by YMCA's area manager, Shane Simmons.
Mr Simmons said the Y is encouraging locals to take advantage of dedicated lap and gentle exercise lanes.
Changes over the off-season include improved conditions that assist in pool heating as well as the removal of shower tokens for showers.
The Y is offering swimming lessons from Monday, November 4 and families are encouraged to complete an enrolment form.
Lessons start from $10, which includes access to the pool for the child and a parent.
Meanwhile, aqua aerobics is returning on October 21 and will run Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 6.30am. The U3A aqua classes will run on Fridays from 8am. Speak to staff for prices.
The Y will host a Family Fun Day on Sunday, November 3 from 11am-3pm. The day will include an aqua aerobics demonstration, swimming lesson trials and other activities. Contact the centre on 6329 8251.
