For the next 102 years the town thrived on the game and built the richest history of any club in Group 10, at one point being known as "the St George of the Bush" such was their dominance in the 1960s and 1970s.
But every club experiences highs and lows. In 2019, the Oberon Tigers are sending out a 'call to arms' to keep the club sustainable and competitive in the Group 10 competition.

At last week's AGM there were insufficient numbers to form a committee for the 2020 season despite the club experiencing a stellar off-field year in 2019 with a strong balance sheet, the addition of a digital scoreboard and communications box and funding to renovate the dressing sheds.
In terms of the club's constitution, there is a window of 21 days in which to hold a special meeting to attempt to re-elect a committee. The date has been set for Thursday, October 17 starting at 6pm at the Oberon Leagues Club.
Many of the outgoing committee have been involved for some time and, earlier in 2019, indicated that they will be retiring after season's end.
The club is looking for new enthusiastic people with fresh ideas to join the Tigers.
Often the best ideas are 'hidden in plain sight' and you don't have to be a world class administrator or accountant to make a significant contribution to the back office.
All you need is passion and an understanding of what sport means to a small country town.
