OBERON Business and Tourism Association president and Buy Local Oberon committee member Helen Lowe is happy with how quickly locals and businesses have embraced the campaign.

"It's not only retail, but professional firms and car service businesses have got on board," she said.
"We need to get more tradies involved - all they have to do is pop in and see me and I will issue them with vouchers.
"We can give them vouchers and they can distribute them to their customers.
"All vouchers can be left in any of the entry boxes in many businesses in Oberon.
"To date, we have 42 businesses involved. It is never too late to get involved - the draw isn't on until Friday, December 13.
"I encourage shoppers to ask for their vouchers - the more times you enter, the better chance you have to win a prize."

Ms Lowe has her own accounting business in Ross Street which has been operating for 27 years.
"We are a small business specialist offering taxation advice," she said.
Ms Lowe has two employees: Wayne Marvin has been with the company for nine years and Ms Lowe said she is delighted to welcome Cecily Fitzpatrick back.
Ms Lowe said she had been getting some "fantastic" feedback about the Buy Local Oberon campaign.
"People are starting to talk about Buy Local Oberon and some businesses are putting it on their Facebook pages to get some interest," she said.
She said the other campaign, Shop Local Vouchers, introduced 13 years ago, has generated $15,000 in Oberon's economy.
"A lot of people purchase them for that hard-to-buy-for person and companies use them as gifts for their employees," she said.
Oberon Business and Tourism Association promotes the economic prosperity of Oberon and district by working to attract visitors to the area, as well as offering support to businesses and community groups.
The organisation welcomes business members, as well as individuals, who are interested in the promotion of the town and district, while maintaining the core values of the small and caring rural community of Oberon.
