THE congregation of St Aidan's Village Church, Black Springs gathered last Sunday to celebrate the first year of the church's independent services since it was re-consecrated last year.

A Holy Communion service for the Feast of St Aidan of Lindisfarne was conducted for the occasion by the Reverend Andrew Sempell, who had re-consecrated St Aidan's for the congregation last year.
Father Andrew, who is also a Black Springs farmer, was accompanied at St Aidan's by his wife Rosemary and some very welcome members from his congregation at St James' Church in King Street, Sydney.

Following the service, a barbecue lunch, contributed by all who attended, was held at Andrew and Rosemary Sempell's property, which was described as a most enjoyable social occasion for all.
A private investor purchased St Aidan's from the Anglican Diocese of Bathurst in 2018 and returned it to the Black Springs community.
St Aidan's is available for dedication and baptism ceremonies, weddings, funerals and for creative events.
