REGISTRATIONS are rolling in for the community Landcare planning workshops being held in Hampton, Oberon and Lithgow.
Have you registered? Please come along and have your say about Landcare in the Lithgow-Oberon region.
Did you know there are 211 threatened species, both animals and plants, in the Lithgow-Oberon region? Did you know that of the 817,500 hectares in the Lithgow-Oberon region, 47 per cent is classified as environmental, 51 per cent is primary production and two per cent is urban?
The community workshops are being conducted by the Lithgow Oberon Landcare Association to help ensure the Lithgow-Oberon region is a better place to live now and in the future.
In addition to the community workshops, have your say by completing a survey form. The survey will take only five to 10 minutes and can be done online (www.surveymonkey.com/r/73G3V2W) or print and post (www.haveyoursay.lithgow.com/download/703/).
Many community members have already completed a survey and said what their major Landcare issues are, provided some great ideas on how to tackle them and even provided a description of how they want Landcare to look in the future.
Scheduled workshops are at Hampton from 5.30pm to 7.30pm on Thursday, August 29 at the Halfway Hotel; Oberon from 5.30pm to 7.30pm on Wednesday, September 4 at the Oberon RSL Club; and Lithgow from 5.30pm to 7.30pm on Tuesday, September 10 at the Secret Creek Café.
Light refreshments will be provided. Please RSVP for catering to Richard Stephens, Landcare co-ordinator, on 0419 795 781 or email email@example.com
Pre-workshop information and survey is also available at www.haveyoursay.lithgow.com/landcareplan or www.facebook.com/LithgowOberonLandcare
