The collection of hand-painted pottery items depicts the Oberon streetscape in the 1930s.
The Oberon District Museum Society will receive funding of $1463 from the Museums and Galleries NSW Small Grants program, according to Member for Bathurst Paul Toole.
OTHER NEWS FROM THE MUSEUM:
He caught up with several of the museum's volunteers recently to tell them the news and to see the hand-painted, kiln-fired collection which is a centrepiece of its display.
"The support from the NSW Government means the Oberon District Museum can install a toughened-glass protective barrier around the display," Mr Toole said.
"It's a very delicate collection of miniature pottery which takes you back to another era in Oberon. Its accuracy in depicting the streetscape is just uncanny.
"The protective glass that will surround the display means the figurines are now protected from being damaged because they are so fragile."
