A SERIES of cold fronts are expected to sweep through large parts of the Central Tablelands with a severe weather warning currently in place for parts of the region.

Damaging winds, generating a vigorous west to northwesterly flow across NSW, are predicted from Thursday until Sunday.
For areas below 1900 metres, damaging winds averaging 60 to 70 km/h, with peak gusts in excess of 90 km/h, are possible for parts of the Central Tablelands from late Thursday afternoon or evening.
Locations which may be affected include: Katoomba and the Blue Mountains, Oberon and Goulburn.
There is still a chance of snow of snow in parts of the region, with Jenolan Caves to see the first snowflakes from around midday on Friday.
This will spread out to include areas around Lithgow, Orange, Crookwell and near Goulburn into Friday afternoon and evening.
Saturday looks likely to have the heaviest snow, with Orange, Bathurst, Lithgow, Jenolan Caves, Crookwell, Goulburn and areas around these towns to see snow from 7am until around midday.
The Bureau of Meteorology's MetEye website shows the snow should last through until Sunday evening.
Gates to Mount Canobolas near Orange are predicted to close as early as Thursday afternoon in preparation for the predicted snow.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
- Move vehicles under cover or away from trees
- Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony
- Keep at least eight metres away from fallen power lines or objects that may be energised, such as fences
- Report fallen power lines to either Ausgrid (131 388), Endeavour Energy (131 003), Essential Energy (132 080) or Evoenergy (131 093) as shown on your power bill
- For emergency help in floods and storms, ring the SES on 132 500.
