Men's golf | Good field out on the course on Saturday

GOLF this week started last Thursday with 20 players for the 12-hole competition. The winner was Kevin Hally with 27 points.

Balls went to Andrew Yeo, Peter Griffiths, Jason Sargent, Hugh O'Neil, Barry Stubbs, Don Miller and Eric Whalan.

Saturday saw 36 golfers play an 18-hole stroke for the monthly medals and putting.

The winner in A grade was Terry Robinson with 81/67 and the runner-up was Neil Whalan with 78/69.

B grade winner was Justin Evans with 98/78 on a countback from the runner-up Kevin McGrath with 97/78. The monthly medals where won by Terry Robinson and Justin Evans.

The scratch ball winners were Neil Whalan in A grade with 79 off the stick, and Peter Hutchinson in B grade with 96 off the stick.

Putting winners were Eric Whalan in A grade with 29 putts and Justin Evans in B grade with 34 putts.

Nearest to the pin winners were Kevin McGrath on the seventh with 7.10m and Peter Stewart on the 17th with 1.80m. Balls for ability went to John McKinnon, Dennis O'Connell, Andrew Yeo and Dom York.

Golf this week will be an 18-hole stableford.
