OBERON High School recently held its mid-year parent-teacher evening. This was the first time the school had used the online booking system and it worked very well.

Other improvements to the night were the location of all faculties in one area and a timed 'gong' to ensure interviews were kept on schedule.
The single location also allowed for a slideshow and newsletters and other documents to be available for parents to look at while waiting for their allocated time.
Parents could fully engage with the interviews as the younger children were kept busy with games and activities run by the Child Studies students.
School staff would like to thank every parent/carer who attended our mid-year conferences. If you were not able to attend, you can still access teachers by contacting the school and talking to them directly.

TOUCH FOOTBALL
THE open boys and open girls teams travelled to Learmonth Park, Bathurst on Monday, May 13 to compete in the Western Touch Football Competition.
Both the teams enjoyed the day and the girls improved with every game they played, so next year they will be looking for a win. This was a great effort from the girls as most are not regular touch footy players.
The boys' second game was very close, but in the end they were narrowly defeated. The team played well and will also be looking for a win next year. Thank you to Miss Bender and Mr Inwood for coaching the teams.
YEAR 7 CAMP
IN March, year seven students embarked on a three day camp at Lake Burrendong. Students worked in groups to complete activities, developing their resilience when faced with things that pushed them outside of their comfort zone. During the daytime, students built rafts and raced them, showed off their archery skills, conquered the high ropes course, climbed a large rock wall, raced down a massive slip and slide and worked as teams through a number of initiative courses. At night, they competed in a mini Olympics along with two other schools and helped run a stall at the county fair - where Mr Jones and Mrs Francey received quite the makeover.
LOGO INITIATIVE
ON Monday, June 3, a group of students were selected to provide community input on the Oberon Council Logo and Branding Strategy. The group met with Oberon Council's tourism and economic development manager Mathew Webb and James Lloyd from Brijid Media. After a short presentation about the proposed logo and tagline options, students gave their feedback on what Oberon meant to them and their reactions to the possible logos.
