THERE was no golf on Thursday afternoon - nobody wanted to get wet and none of the regulars turned up for a game of cards.

Saturday was a lovely sunny winter's day and we had a good roll-up to play a two-person ambrose.
The two-person ambrose was a qualifying round for one of our teams to go on to play a regional qualifier.
This Saturday is the shortest day of the season.
Kim Rawlings and Mick McKechnie had a good round to win the local event with 73/64 1/4. Runners-up and the team to go on to the regional qualifier was Rob McGrath and Jason Sargent with a good round of 69/66.
Darren Gordon and Paul Behan combined well to come in third with 74/67. Balls went to Kim Rawlings, Mark Mathews, Ken Maddison, Dennis O'Connell, Sean Mooney, Barry Lang, Adrian Poulten, Neil Whalan, Luke Christie Johnston and Dom York.
Golf on Saturday will be an 18-hole stableford event. Members should endeavour to play a little earlier during winter. This Saturday is the shortest day of the season.
Members with carts would be well advised to take their golf buggies back to the cart shed via the now sealed road. We don't want tracks across the ninth fairway.
