Mayfield Garden is 75-hectares, making it the largest privately-owned garden in Australia.
Twenty hectares of the gardens are open 363 days of the year.
Mayfield offers more than just gardens to visit. They also have a nursery and produce store, an event and function space suited for weddings, private events or corporate functions, guided group tours, exclusive private tours, as well as an onsite café which sources all its fresh and seasonal menu ingredients from their kitchen garden.
The Excellence in Business award recognises a business with 21 or more employees that has attained significant growth and is able to demonstrate the specific strategies and processes implemented to achieve sustainable growth over the previous 24 months.
Mayfield continually looks at growth and how they can offer more to its visitors, with a focus on mobility-tourism.
In 2018 Mayfield Garden was nominated in eight categories for the Oberon Business Associations' Business Awards, including Excellence in Tourism and Events Promoting Oberon, Excellence in Food and Hospitality, Employee of the Year, Outstanding Young Employee and Apprentice, or Trainee (25 years).
Mayfield took out two awards: the 2018 Excellence in Business, Over 20 Employees and Excellence in Tourism, Events or Promoting Oberon.
Domino Houlbrook-Cove from Mayfield Garden said this award is a fabulous recognition for the Hawkins family and the entire Mayfield team, many who are never seen.
"Our tireless design, construction and garden team, whose dedication has seen this business quite literally grow to what it is today," she said.
"Our next major event is the winter festival from July 6 to July 20. Visitors can explore beyond Mayfield Garden and see areas of the Hawkins family garden up to the Parterre.
"In winter, the bluestone masonry becomes the star - all the bluestone is quarried nearby, hand cut, and hand laid by Mayfield's own stonemasons. Mayfield's nursery features plants that you will see in the Garden and have been propagated and grown by our horticulturalists."
Western NSW Business Chamber regional manager Vicki Seccombe congratulated Mayfield on the Excellence in Business award.
"The 2019 Western NSW Regional Business Awards, showcase the diverse array of talent in the region's business community and this year's winners should feel incredibly proud to be named as the region's leading businesses for 2019," Ms Seccombe said.
"The Western NSW Business Awards are made possible by the strong relationships the NSW Business Chamber has forged with our hardworking Local Chambers of Commerce in Bathurst, Canowindra, Cowra, Coonabarabran, Coonamble, Dubbo, Forbes, Gulgong, Lithgow, Mudgee, Oberon, Orange, Parkes, Rylstone Kandos and Wellington.
"Through our annual awards program, the NSW Business Chamber seeks to celebrate business excellence in NSW and promote growth by enabling our finalists and winners to share their success stories."
